In today’s digital world, it is a must for all professionals to have a basic understanding of various IT tools which are used in day to day activities. The internet has revolutionised the availability of information and all professionals have to be computer savvy to perform efficiently at their work place. The computer courses being offered through IT training are the basic requirements for day-to-day use at the work place.

The IT training is provided by IEL to all its students of MBA and PG Diploma programs.

However, for students of Degree Programs, training will be given in relevant IT topics. IEL provides the necessary latest hardware and software infrastructure to cater to the IT needs of all students and training needs of hands-on IT courses. IEL will be equipped with servers and multiple terminals with multiple operating systems enabling client-server environment. An internet connection will also provided at IEL which will help the students in their continuous search for knowledge through the worldwide web.

Training Modules

Module I - Fundamentals of Computers

  • Fundamentals of IT: Introduction to computers, Operating Systems, Overview of Hardware and Software.

  • MS Word: Word Processing using MS Word, handling files, formatting, editing, layouts, mailmerge, etc.

  • Excel: Basics of spreadsheet development, calculators, functions, table formatting, chart development,
    data analysis tools.

  • PowerPoint: Business Presentation with MS Powerpoint.

  • Internet: Introduction, email, browsing, search engines.

Module II - E-Business & DBMS

  • MIS: Concepts, Development Approaches, Systems Development Life Cycle, Organizational Systems, Information Systems in Functional Areas, Computer Communication Networks, Information Systems Security.

  • DBMS : Data Models; Principles of Database Design Techniques, Query Processing, Transaction Processing, Security and Integrity, Distributed Database and Object-Oriented Databases.

Module III - E-Business & Enterprise Applications

  • E-Business: E-Business Models, E-business Framework, Sell & Buy Channel Enhancement, Industry Transformation, Convergence, E-Commerce, Web Services, Value Chain to Value Networks, Promise and Limitations, Impacts on Organization Strategy.

  • Enterprise Applications: Process View of Organization, Approaches to Process Improvement, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), SCM Applications, CRM Applications.

These modules are tentative, subject to change, if required.
